We provide Emergency Shelter in a safe, secure environment, Crisis Intervention services and Emergency Advocacy when you need it. We can help you with Transportation and provide Emergency Vouchers for things like Groceries and Fuel.
When you are ready, we are here to help.
All services are free of charge to those who are seeking relief from domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault or stalking in Lake County and on the Flathead Indian Reservation. We provide our services without regard to race, religion, sex, age, national origin, sexual orientation or disability.
What is Domestic Violence?
Domestic violence is a pattern of behavior used by an individual to establish and maintain power and control over his/her intimate partner. Domestic violence may consist of physical, sexual, emotional and or verbal abuse.
Warning Signs:
Your partner checks on you frequently. This may include listening to your phone calls, making you explain where you have been, checking your email, text messages, and car mileage or always questioning who you were talking to or where you’ve been.
Your partner often puts you down. Including calling you names, humiliating you or criticizing you in public or in private.
Your partner controls where you go and who you talk to.
Your partner destroys or threatens to destroy your things.
Your partner threatens to hurt or does hurt you, your family members, friends or pets.
Your partner scares you.
Your partner blames you or others for his/her problems.
Your partner puts down your fears or concerns about your relationship.
Your partner forces you to have sex in ways that are not comfortable for you.
Your partner spends a lot of time and energy making up for abusive things he/she has done to you or others.
Your partner experiences sudden mood changes and blames you.
